Punjab, Balochistan CMs discuss politics

Published September 17, 2003

LAHORE, Sept 16: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Jam Yousaf called on his Punjab counterpart, Pervaiz Elahi, here on Tuesday and discussed with him inter-provincial matters and the political situation.

Mr Elahi said there was a complete harmony and understanding between the two provinces on the construction of water reservoirs. Direct liaison between both the provinces was helpful in understanding important national issues.

Jam Yousaf said the PML-Q was playing a leading role in addressing national issues with a sense of patriotism. The Gawadar port project was of national importance, he said.

He said the elements fanning misunderstanding and differences between units of the federation would fail. All the issues confronting the provinces would be resolved amicably, he said.

Meanwhile, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan chairman Dr Tariq Hasan also called on Mr Elahi.
