Karachi lights up for Eid Miladun Nabi

Buildings, streets, roads, mosques were illuminated across Pakistan on account of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on 12th Rabi ul Awwal. The celebrations continued for two days in which processions were held and Naats recited in remembrance of the Prophet (PBUH).

Maybe they should include a picture from my apartments - no electricity 'inside' the well decorated and brightly lit complex, only on the outside

@Visibly Invisible : Sir, If you don't want to celebrate Eid-milad that's fine, nobody should force you to celebrate. On the other hand, no one should be allowed to stop people from celebrating this occasion either. Unfortunately, tolerance for each other has become an alien concept in this country.

@Hassan - Stopping and advising are two different things. Advising someone that their is no basis for this practice should not be taken personally by anyone as the Prophet himself described the religion as Advice.

Don't you want to put up lights and decoration when a family member gets married or has a birthday? This celebration is for Rehmat-ul-alameen.. We should follow his teaching of honesty, tolerance and respect for all along with this celebration..

unfortunately all masjids in Karachi were literally empty on the next morning Fajr prayer. We don't perform what is mandatory but try to bring glamour in religion by celebrating what non of prophet companions celebrated..
