SAHIWAL: One-day training of 3,600 headmasters, teachers and guards of 1,205 public schools started at two centres in the district to counter terror attacks here on Saturday.

Three persons from each school, namely headmaster, physical education teacher and security guards, are being trained on how to react to a security situation. The trainees have been divided into badges and the training will continue till Jan 10 at two centres at Sahiwal and Chichawatni. The participants in the training would be awarded certificates. ​

Rana Azhar, executive district officer (Education), told Dawn the training would be provided by the Civil Defense, Rescue 1122 and Elite Force staff.

Ihsan Farid, headmaster of the Government High School 85/6-R, said all the public schools’ headmasters had already submitted security information report regarding their schools.
