SUKKUR: Pakistan Peoples Party-Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB) chairperson Ghinwa Bhutto has said that the establishment of military courts and convicting terrorists through them may not help root out terrorism. Rather a forceful and decisive strike on the source of terrorists’ power has to be made.
She was speaking to journalists at the residence of the party’s Jacobabad president, Nadeem Qureshi, in that city on Friday.
She expressed the view that the Peshawar Army Public School carnage took place during the course of the military operation Zarb-i-Azb against terrorists, adding that the state should be held responsible for the security lapse that resulted in the loss of lives of a large number of innocent children and other people.
She observed that terrorist groups were flourishing due to support of their sympathisers within the country, adding that both pro- and anti-Taliban elements were sitting in the power corridors. “Such support to terrorist outfits has to be checked to achieve the goal,” she stressed.
