Plea to repair roads in Tharparkar

Published September 15, 2003

MITHI, Sept 14: Tharparkar roads — badly damaged by monsoon rains — are likely to become unmotorable if not repaired soon.

This was said by a number of commuters, who frequently travel from Mithi to Diplo and other Thar towns. They told this correspondent on Sunday the rains had caused a lot of damage to the roads.

Rivulets of water from sand dunes have washed away parts of the roads, besides developing ditches.

The highway department has been urged to take immediate measures for the repair of these dilapidated roads.

SCHOOL: Residents of Mithi have urged authorities of the education department to raise the height of compound walls of girls middle and primary schools in North and Bajir colonies.
