‘Militant’ killed in Bannu

BANNU: A suspected militant was killed during a clash with security forces in Janikhel area on Sunday.

Officials said security forces were carrying out search on the Bannu-Miramshah road when the fighting erupted.

The deceased was identified as Dilfara and he belonged to the Hayat `commander’ group.

Security forces shifted the body to the Military Combi­ned Hospital in Bannu. The search operation continued till late night. However, there was no report of any arrest.

Troops have tightened security and increased patrolling in various parts of the country as part of its response to terrorism in the country since an attack on Army Public School, Peshawar, earlier this month.

A total of 150 people, mostly students, were massacred during the Dec 16 attack responsibility for which was claimed by the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.
