LAHORE, Dec 21: A newly-wed woman allegedly committed suicide over a domestic issue in Liaquatabad on Friday.

Ghazala, 20, was married to labourer Salamat Ali a couple of months ago. She was reportedly upset with her in-laws attitude towards her. Salamat was also out of work these days which added fuel to the domestic quarrels.

Salamat told police that he had a quarrel with Ghazala last night. Following the quarrel, he had gone to sleep in the veranda while his wife stayed in the room. He said in the morning he found her body hanging with a rope tied to a fan.

However, Ghazala’s brother Javed told reporters that she was murdered.

Police have removed the body to the city mortuary for autopsy.
