Musharraf conspiring to destabilise Sindh govt: Zardari

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday said his party had reasons to believe that former dictator General (retd) Pervez Musharraf was meeting with certain elements seeking to destabilise the Sindh government.

In a statement, Zardari asked democratic political parties to take notice of the alleged conspiracy to destabilise the Sindh govt by some elements.

The former president also warned that the PPP would never permit any such attempt to succeed.

Zardari also said that the party was a united political force and those seeking to topple the provincial govt through horse trading would not succeed in their designs. He also rejected reports of frictions within the party.

Earlier on Saturday, while speaking at the Bhutto mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to mark Benazir Bhutto's death anniversary, the former president dismissed reports of differences with his son Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

The PPP Co-Chairman said that the rumors were being circulated by competitors.

During Musharraf's time, the country's image, respect and economy was on the top. He is the person who will never indulge in dirty politics. He is honest and straight forward person. He did made some political mistakes but instead of correcting the mistakes we forced him to leave and that was the biggest mistake country did.

Musharraf is good choice for Sindh specially Karachi rather than PPP and MQM, the people of Sindh have lost a lot due to the tug of war between these two parties and gained nothing. Children in Thar is dying on daily basis but no one is ready to take any concrete step to pacify the sufferings of Tharis.

A few things in response to Zardari's allegations: (a) It is your party who is fed up with your useless politics. They have come out of the comatose that they have been in since BB's death and have come to realized what you are all about (b) horse trading is done by those who have illegal money and tons of it to spend on buying loyalties. Musharraf does not have that kind of money and therefore, your allegations do not hold any ground (c) Finally, you are solely responsible of taking the entire party to the ground.

That's the dirty politics of President against President. Musharraf was way better leader than Zardari and faced media in many countries. Economy was better and development was taking place. Rupee was 60 and in Zardar's time it went down to over 100. In Zardaris time, there was corruption and loot in all areas. Democracy is the only excuse to rule but it's not working

Zardari will do everything to divert attention away from his Govt's performance in Sindh. Its the hallmark of PPP to play the victim card and get sympathy vote. I hope the people of Sindh are more aware now. I saw a programme on the state of infrastructure, schools and hospitals in the interior Sindh including Larkana and in Zardaris home town. I was horrified to see how PPP have neglected the people of Sindh. I hope Zardari doesnt get the sympathy vote next time because BB was assassinated or ZB was hanged.

Ex-president is blaming on ex-president and at the moment he suppose to monitor what is the prevailing situation in Sindh and monitor his PPP worker that what they are doing in Sindh/ Karachi. The Thar situation and Timber Market fire? why the fire brigade doesn't have fuel for fire vehicles? why the drivers are not present? Who is the responsible person? why they are not performing their duties? Why the residential houses is around timber market? why the road is so small that the fire vehicles are not able to reach at the scan? We would advise that please do something for the betterment of province and leave politics for the time, because the condition of the public is not good.

The Government of Sindh has been performing below the par, the feelings of none existence government in Sindh is on the rise, to say in precise words, that PPP does not require Musharraf to lodge covert activities in destabilizing it rather, the Chief Minister and the cabinet are more than enough to pave the way for difficult situation for the Government.

Musharraf would be remembered as the best era in the history of Pakistan but Zardari will be remembered for ingenious ways he put the highest Court of the Land into a spin to track what the Court believed was Government property. The only credit to Zardari that he kept a weak coalition together despite odds of pulling through to complete a full term in office by a civil government.
