SWABI: The district administration has asked the educational institutions to take adequate security measures, warning that if any school or college failed to comply the orders punitive action will be initiated against its management.

The warning came at a meeting held here on Wednesday chaired by deputy commissioner Kamran Afridi. Leaders of political parties, peace committee and jirga members and police officials were in attendance.

Held in the backdrop of the carnage at the Army Public School, Peshawar, the meeting was to take into confidence the peace committee members about various measures the district administration has taken or is taking to maintain peace in the district.

Members of the district peace committee assured the administration of extending full support to it for maintenance of peace in the district.

The participants expressed deep sorrow over the killing of innocent schoolchildren, saying that the incident had shaken the entire nation.

The meeting called for confining Afghan refugees to their camps until their reparation to home country.

BODY FOUND: Body of an Afghan was recovered from fields in Panjpir area here on Wednesday, said police.

It was placed in the Swabi police station for identification, where relatives identified the deceased as Ziaur Rehman, an Afghan, who had been living in Peshawar.

The cause of his killing was not yet known. However, a case was registered in the city police station.
