Apropos the last two paras of a news report headlined “Additional secretary declines to accept Ogra post” on Dec 15, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has reported to the cabinet division that one of the candidates for the post of member oil had joined Ogra as joint executive director (Technical) on Dec 4, 2003 and was promoted to executive director on July 1, 2013.

Seven disciplinary proceedings were initiated in the recent past on the complaints of his fellow colleagues. Out of these, in three proceedings, nothing was proved against him despite probe. The other four have not attained conclusiveness. The officer remained suspended under one of the said inquiries/proceedings and was reinstated in September 2014 because charge was not proved as per report of inquiry committee. Since then he has been performing duties as executive director (Enforcement-Oil). He has also filed cross complaints against his fellow colleagues; however, none has been finalised yet.
