RAWALPINDI, Dec 21: Additional Sessions Judge Mohammad Sarwar Sidhu on Friday directed the SSP Rawalpindi and Anti- Corruption director to register a case against the SHO Banni police station and other policemen for involving a citizen in a fake arms’ possession case.
Zulfikar, a resident of the Civil Line area, was arrested by the police in a raid on charges of possessing illegal weapons. The raiding party was led by the Banni police SHO, Asghar Ali Goraya.
The judge, in his letter to the SSP and Anti-Corruption director, said: “These policemen had performed un-Islamic action and involved the accused, Zulfikar, in the case with malafide intentions.”
The Court, while confirming bail for accused, directed the SSP to take strict action against the Banni policemen for illegally conducting the raid in the jurisdiction of Civil Lines police.
SHOW-CAUSE NOTICE ISSUED: Civil Judge Family Court Shabana Risalat Abbasi on Friday issued show-cause notice against the Adiala Jail superintendent for not presenting an accused before the court.
Naseem Akhtar had filed a dissolution of marriage case against her husband, Razik Hussain, in the family court. Her husband, who was in jail in a narcotics case, was not brought before the court on the hearing.
The Court, thus, issued show-cause notice against the Adiala Jail superintendent and directed him to present the accused on next hearing.
THREE DECLARED POs: Additional Sessions Judge Chaudhary Imtiaz Ahmed on Friday declared three persons as proclaimed offenders (POs) for their alleged involvement in a murder case.
The accused, Noor Syed, Kabul Khan and Ajab Noor, allegedly murdered Lal Khan on October 23, 1998 and had not been arrested so far. The Ganjmandi police had registered an FIR against the accused on the complaint of victim’s brother, Nazeer Khan. The motive behind the murder is said to be old enmity.
According to the complainant, his brother had been working in Railways workshop for the last five years. On October 23, 1998 he was at work, when the three accused arrived at the scene and shot him dead.
When Ganjmandi police failed to nab the killers, Nazeer Khan moved the court, which issued arrest warrants against them.
