A fashion show consisting of ready-to-wear; bohemian and eclectic seasonal designs were presented at the launch of a flagship retail store, Sapphire, at Dolmen Mall, Clifton.

The apparels consisted of casual, smart, semi-formal cotton dresses focused on the rich culture and heritage of the subcontinent and traditions of the East, both past and present. Designer Khadijah Shah presented stitched daywear and unstitched printed fabric designs, scarves, formal range for women, titled Naqaash and menswear line Shikaara.

The winter fabric collection consisted of vivid designs and eye-catching embroideries using floral patterns and chinoiserie to compose prints and embroideries on woolen and silk fabrics, recreating old world craftsmanship with a modern touch.

The models that presented the collection included Amina, Hira, Fia and Fauzia Aman showcased the designs before celebrities Safinaz, Adnan Pardesy, Tapu Javeri, Ayesha Umar, Shabbir Jan and others.

Bringing out the woolies

The soft trunk show launch of department store INC showcased clothes which catered to the preference of the wearer rather than what is in vogue. Keeping the season in mind the models took to the ramp displaying adventurous fashion apparel for both genders. Children’s clothing, with a distinctive sense of style, was also presented.

Models Soniya, Falak, Sarah and others took to the catwalk with aplomb displaying western winter wear consisting of pants, skirts, jumpsuits and colourful cocktail dresses in seasonal hues. The showstopper here was Faiza Ansari.

The menswear and children’s wear comprised woolen and cotton casual T-shirts, jeans, jackets and pants in warm wintry colours such as burgundy, black, navy blue and green.

The highlight of the evening were the foreign representatives of the flagship store who walked the ramp and danced to the music.
