KARACHI: ‘Bigg Boss, season seven’ famed Indian model and actor Gauhar Khan was slapped while she was hosting a television show, the Times of India said in a report published on Monday.
During the show, a 24-year-old man among audience misbehaved with her and later slapped her, saying she wore immodest outfits "despite being a Muslim woman".
Security guards apprehended the 24-year-old Aqil Malik and handed him over to the police.

Gauhar Khan, the younger sister of Indian actor Nighar Khan, had won the season seven of reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ in 2013. The popular show is being run by Bollywood star Salman Khan for several years.
She had also performed in a movie titled ‘Miss India: The Mystery’. Gauhar Khan has established her fame for item songs, apart from being a model.
A case has been registered against Aqil Malik for attacking the actor.

This should be treated as serious violation against women freedom, should be stopped at this point. I hope women rights commission take up this case and the culprit should be brought to justice. This is sad day for India's women's freedom of expression. She is an artist, and she have every freedom in a country like India. Painting religious motive on an artist is going to have dangerous backlash in the free society. All artists from Cinema, Stage and TV should condemn this act. We are not living in the 13th century. We are going ahead with 21st century where everyone have a freedom and to be respected.
We have a voice from India for Veena Malik too, she should be freed as well. Dark society imprisoned the artists first. We don't want dark society anymore.

Crazies are everywhere. Even some of our khap panchayats are equally absurd. The difference is in reaction of media, civil society and law enforcement which supports the victim and not the aggressor.

@Ali Prior to Independence Khan's (Pathan) were enjoying respect in all over India they were in Army, they were in business,associates of Maharaja's . All influential elites in indian cities had pathan's as guards. Still we have in memory Tagores story Kabuliwala ... Salman Khan's great grandfather were migrant from Afghanistan and part of one of Hindu Army fought with Mughal forces.

I believe there are so many losers in every religion who when failed in life to get cheap attention tries to do these things. They know that will get sympathies from few idiots an nuts. I believe before handing over to police the public would have washed him with Excel Surf blended with hundreds or slaps and kicks. Islam has no place for those who try to take judgement in their hands and try to be the Godfather of this religion. So it means that if you are Muslim you are a disadvantage that you can not live a life of your choice. Definitely not. When you pray .. only God knows what is in your heart. Religion purely a faith thing and not in beards or Hijabs... it is in nice and kind actions. I hope Police will do a lot of justice to him so that no one dare do this again.

the dresses worn by girls may not be liked by many in india, but it does not mean they should become violent and do moral policing. This is highly unacceptable and should be punishable to deter further such instances.
The offenders should realize that the dresses not only worn by women but also by men has changed a lot since last 20, 30, 50 , 80 years. Hence what may not be acceptable 30 years back is a realty now and Film Personalities normally are the trend setters of Indian dressing sense.

@Ali Because most of the Khans have come and settled down in Mumbai from frontier and Afghanistan since the British time. They came as traders and are an integral part of the Mumbai society. Some of course came later to join the film industry from other parts of the country. Khans in fact are found all across India since hundreds of years. Khan is one of the most common surname among Muslims in India.
