Imran & ISI

Published November 25, 2014

REFERENCE Syed Bilal’s letter ‘Cat out of the bag?’ (Nov 11): It is surprising that, according to the writer, Imran Khan’s demand for including MI and ISI in pre-poll rigging inquiry in the opinion of the writer “…only confirms what others have been saying all along, Imran was launched by an agency, and that he has the backing of a powerful state institution for his agitational politics.”

What is wrong in including the only disciplined and organised institution in whose integrity and loyalty the nation firmly believes. In the past, in many such fact-finding commissions, people in uniform had been included like the Abbottabad commission and the Model Town inquiry.

It’s time we stopped maligning our soldiers and institutions connected with the armed forces. The pre-poll rigging allegations must be investigated to close this chapter once and for all, and to make the voter of this country confident. In other case, in the future the genuine voters will not cast their vote.

This is a valid demand of Mr Khan.
