KARACHI: The Karachi City Cricket Association has decided to revive the KCCA President Cup after a lapse of 25 years with 198 clubs of the seven zones competing.

While announcing the details on Monday, chairman of the tournament committee Touseef Siddiqui said that the opening fixture will be played between Pak Korangi and Commrade Sports at the TMC Ground on Tuesday.

KCCA president Prof Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi, who is also a member of governing body of the PCB, will inaugurate the tournament which is being sponsored by KCCA Zone-II president Javed Ahmed Khan.

According to Touseef, no entry fee would be charged from the participating clubs and all matches will be of 45 overs per side.

The KCCA Executive Council has formed a tournament subcommittee, headed by Touseef, for the smooth running of various KCCA tournaments. Jamil Ahmed is the tournament secretary with Shahzad Alam, Zafar Ahmed, Azam Khan and Afzal Qureshi as members.

Three other fixtures are scheduled on Tuesday with Zaheer Hassan CC taking on Islam Gymkhana and Gulzar CC playing O.K. Sports and Rising Star CC facing Shaheen Gymkhana.
