KARACHI: City govt broker found dead

KARACHI, Sept 9: The torso of a man was discovered from the Lyari river in Gulbahar on Tuesday.

Police said that the torso was found from the river near Haji Mureed goth. Following the discovery, police searched for the remaining organs, but failed.

Later, the torso was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, police added.

KILLED: A broker at the city government land department was killed in Nazimabad on Tuesday.

Police said that Shahnawaz Ahmed, 35, had gone out of his house in North Karachi on Monday night on motorcycle (LSH-9876) and did not return home.

However, his strangulated body was found from the Paposhnagar graveyard on Tuesday morning. His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police said that the victim had three children.

In Malir, the body of an unidentified young man was thrown from a moving car on Memon goth road near Mehran Garden late on Monday night.

Police said that the unknown victim was in his late 20’s. The victim had been strangulated to death and had torture marks on his body, police added.

Later, the body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem examination. Following the examination, the body was shifted to the Edhi morgue for identification, police added.

ACCIDENTS: A young man died in accident in Liaquatabad.

Police said that Hafiz Mehboob, 24, was on his motorcycle when he slipped and hit his head against the pavement at S.M. Taufiq Road. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

In North Nazimabad, a teenager died in a road traffic accident late on Monday night.

Police said that Ajmal, 18, was crossing the road near Ziauddin Hospital when he was knocked down by a speeding bus. His body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

BODY RECOVERED: Body of an unknown young man was recovered from the sea beneath the Native Jetty Bridge on Tuesday.
