SUKKUR, Sept 6: An exorcist beat a man to death while extracting a ghost from him in Rohri town on Friday night.

The victim, Dilmir, 18, son of Kakoo Punjabi, was a patient of epilepsy and his parents, instead of referring him to a doctor, took him to the exorcist.

The charlatan took the ailing man to a room and tortured him with hot iron rods due to which the young man sustained serious injuries. He was admitted to the Taluka Hospital Rohri in a critical condition where he died.

The so-called healer, Syed Pir, fled to Nawabshah after killing the man. He was encamped in the nearby locality of Beri Chowk, where he used to deal desperate souls.

The police after registering a murder case against him are searching him.
