JHANG: About 50 students of the district who have passed O’ level exams in higher grades held a protest on Saturday against the higher education department officials for ignoring them in Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme.

They said that to calculate the percentage of O’level grades as matric marks the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), after getting fee and adopting the matric result formula, issued an equivalence certificate to O level students which was considered valid for all scholarships, admissions and other awards introduced by the government for Matric passed students.

They alleged many students who had passed O level and obtained above 78pc marks like Matric students and their percentage had also been authenticated by the IBCC were deprived of PM’s laptop scheme which was clearly against the spirit of the policy.
