PESHAWAR: Unidentified assailants shot dead two people in as many incidents in the provincial metropolis on Thursday.

The first incident took place at Bacha Khan Chowk where one Kamal Khan hailing from Bajaur Agency was fired upon by unidentified motorcyclists. A complainant Zahidullah, a cousin of the victim, told local police that they were on way to home when armed men on two motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire on them and as a result Kamal sustained bullet injuries and later died at Lady Reading Hospital.

Mr Kamal, he said, had no enmity with anyone and they had been in Peshawar for the past several years to earn livelihood for their families.

In another such incident, one Tahir Pervez, a member of the Shia community, was shot dead by unidentified persons at Waliabad area on Thursday. FIRs have been registered in both the cases at the relevant police stations. However, police said that no one had been arrested so far.
