LAHORE: Gunmen struck three times in the city on Thursday, taking away cash, jewellery and other valuables all worth Rs5.8 million.

Two gunmen barged into the house of Shahzad Hassan in H-Block, Wapda Town, in the Sattokatla police jurisdiction and took away cash and valuables all worth Rs4.2 million.

Three robbers stormed into the house of Latif in Nargis Block of Iqbal Town and escaped after looting cash and valuables all worth Rs900,000.

Two robbers burst into the house of Dr Amir Rasheed in B-Block, Johar Town, and plundered cash and valuables all worth Rs700,000.

TRANSFER: Inspector General (IG) Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera transferred and posted two police officers on Thursday.

According to a handout, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), intelligence special branch of Punjab, Riffat Mukhtar was transferred and posted SSP of administration special branch, Punjab, Lahore, against an existing vacancy whereas Abdul Ghaffar Qaisrani, awaiting posting, was transferred and posted SSP of intelligence special branch, Punjab, Lahore, with immediate effect.

Mr Qaisrani was removed from the post of Nankana Sahib district police officer few days ago.
