UMERKOT: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has finalised arrangements for its public meeting and Diwali celebrations to be held in Marvi Ground on Friday.

PTI vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, MNA Lal Malhi and many party activists would speak at the public meeting while a large number of PTI workers and Ghausia Jamaat members and followers would attend it and join Hindus in night-long Diwali celebrations, local PTI leaders said.

They said that fireworks, tableaux and a music show were features of the programme.

MIRPURKHAS: A representative meeting of peasants and civil society organisations of Mirpurkhas division held here on Thursday decided to boycott the PTI programme in Umerkot and the party’s other activities in Sindh for advocating feudal lords in a land reforms case.

Presided over by Advocate Kanji Rano Bheel, the meeting noted that PTI vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi had chosen to oppose land reforms in the Supreme Court.

It discussed the role of the PTI leader and observed that while the party claimed to be safeguarding the rights of peasants and working against the feudal system, Mr Qureshi had filed an affidavit in the apex court for representing the feudal lords in the case.
