LAKKI MARWAT: The wildlife employees on Monday seized four precious falcons from a Karachi-bound passenger bus on Wanda Banochi checkpost here.

Wildlife Bannu division DFO Abdul Halim Marwat told reporters that on information about birds smuggling, he directed Lakki Marwat SDFO Abdul Rehman to form a special team to foil the smuggling bid.

He said that the team stopped a bus going to Karachi from Peshawar and during search recovered four flacons hidden in wooden boxes.

“A birds’ smuggler, Khursheed Khan, hailing from Peshawar was arrested and produced before a local court along with the seized birds,” maintained Mr Marwat, saying that the court remanded the accused into police custody while the birds were handed over to the wildlife department.
