PESHAWAR, Sept 4: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (constitutional group) and Imamia

Students Organisation (ISO) jointly staged protest demonstration here on Thursday against the United States occupation of Iraq and killing of civilians, including top

leader Ayatollah Mohammed Baqer al Hakim in Najaf car bomb blast.

The rally started from Shoba Bazaar and proceeded towards Qissa Khwani Bazar where a protest meeting was held.

JUI-CG provincial chief Maulana Mohammad Shoaib Nadeem and Allama Abid Shakeri led the rally.

The protesters, carrying placards and posters of Iranian spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenai, chanted slogans against the US and its allies. They also set the US flag on fire.

Speaking at the rally, Maulana Shoaib demanded withdrawal of US and British forces from Iraq.
