KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has said that matters pertaining to natural resources be settled in accordance with the 18th amendment of the Constitution to avoid any confusion.

Presiding over a meeting at the Chief Minister House here on Tuesday to discuss divestment of 10 per cent OGDC shares, the chief minister said that the Sindh government would follow the constitution and seek services of senior lawyers on the issue.

The meeting was informed that Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa government had challenged the divestment move of the federal government in the high court and had got a stay order and the federal government had challenged the KP petition in the Supreme Court.

Later, the chief minister met a delegation of All-Pakistan Memon Community and lauded the role of the community for development of business and welfare of society.

Mr Shah urged them to make investment in the health and education sectors and held out an assurance to members of the delegation that the Sindh government would provide them land and other facilities for the purpose.

The chief minister said that the Sindh government had set up an Education City in Karachi and was also launching mega health projects where renowned international organisations were taking part.

He asked the secretary of co-operative societies to hold a meeting with members of All-Pakistan Memon Federation and help them set up their housing schemes.

The leader of the delegation, Mr Aziz Memon, praised services of the chief minister for the welfare of people and development in the province.

He announced a gold medal for the chief minister in recognition of his services for the people of the province.
