HYDERABAD: A second lieutenant of Pakistan Army was gunned down while his two brothers received bullet injuries outside their house in Journalist Colony within the jurisdiction of Baldia police station on Tuesday.

The army official, Abdul Hadi Mughal received bullet injuries on his chest when unidentified armed assailants, riding a motorbike opened fire on him outside his residence. His two brothers, Faisal Mughal, an advocate and Ali Mughal received multiple bullet injuries on different parts of their body.

SP City Umer Tufail confirmed that second lieutenant Abdul Hadi Mughal died instantly. He was taken to Combined Military Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The injured brothers were taken to Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) city branch and then shifted to a private bone hospital in the same area.

Tufail hinted at some personal feud which may have led to the killing. “Neither anything was snatched nor any robbery attempt was made”, he said. He added that there is a claim that assailants had intruded the house and targeted them at the entrance.

Faisal is also being shifted to Karachi as per doctor’s advice, said his friend Advocate Fazal Qadir Memon. He said that the incident took place in the colony a few paces away from his residence.
