NEW YORK: A large number of people protested here on Friday against ruthless treatment of journalists in Balochistan.

Besides journalists, the protesters included local politicians and leaders of civil society. They expressed solidarity with Baloch journalists.

Afzal Butt, the visiting president of his own faction of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalist (PFUJ) spoke on the plight of journalists in Balochistan.

The speakers called upon the government of Pakistan to bring the killers of journalists to justice and regretted that no efforts had been made in this regard.
