HYDERABAD, Sept 2: Hyderabad City and Latifabad claimed women’s table tennis and badminton crowns of the Hyderabad Sports Festival on Tuesday.

TABLE TENNIS RESULTS: Latifabad bt Qasimabad 3-0: Uzma Saleem bt Sana 11-2, 11-6 11-3; Shagufta bt Khalida 11-4, 11-6, 11-5 and Maria Warsi bt Maria 11-5, 11-2, 11-2. Hyderabad City bt Qasimabad 3-1: Amber Aslam bt Sana 11-2, 11-4, 11-5; Uzma Iqbal bt Maria 11-5, 11-6,11-8; Khalida (Qasimabad) w/o Ishrat Ashraf; Amber Aslam defeated bt 11-2, 11-4, 11-5.

Hyderabad City bt Latifabad 3-2:

Ishrat Ashraf lost to Uzma 11-6, 8-11, 9-11 and 4-11; Shabana Sabir bt Shagufta 11-7, 11-4, 11-7, Amber Aslam lost to Sabeen 8-11, 8-11, 11-6, 11-6, 3-11, Shabana Sabir bt Uzma 11-6, 11-9, 11-9, Ishrat Ashraf bt Shagufta 11-6, 7-11, 11-8, 11-9.

BADMINTON RESULTS:

Qasimabad bt Hyderabad City 2-0. Roma bt Huma 11-3,11-7, Nirmila and Khalida bt Huma and Urwat 15-9 and 15-9.

Latifabad bt Hyderabad City 2-0. Sumaira bt Sumera 11-4, 11-5, Saira and Sumaira bt Huma and Urwat 15-7 and 15-5.

Qasimabad bt Latifabad 2-0.

Nirmila Devi bt Sumera 11-2,11-2, Nirmila Devi and Khalida bt Sumera and Aisha 15-6, 15-9.

In men basketball two matches were decided. Qasimabad first defeated Hyderabad City 29-14 and later beat Latifabad 37-29.

Meanwhile, Qasimabad grabbed men’s badminton trophy with Hyderabad City and Latifabad finishing second and third.—APP
