HYDERABAD: A police officer posted at the Police Lines in the city was shot dead by three attackers within the jurisdiction of the Bhitai Nagar police station on Thursday evening.

Inspector Abdul Sattar Solangi was sitting in his car parked near a car showroom when a woman came, sat beside him for sometime and left.

A little later, three armed men arrived and one of them shot Inspector Solangi. He received three bullets and was rushed to the Liaquat University Hospital’s city branch, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Bhitai Nagar police said that the motive behind the murder seemed to be some family dispute.
