MULTAN: The Multan Electric Supply Company (Mepco) issued on Monday a notice to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi for installing more than one electricity connection at his property.

A notice was issued by the Manzoorabad sub-divisional officer.

“It is to inform you through a notice that representatives of this office checked and found more than one electricity connection

at your property and the usage of a dual source of supply to these connections is against the departmental rules and tantamount to misuse of tariff and loss of revenue to the company,” the letter said.

The letter has identified 10 electricity connections within the property of Mr Qureshi. It states that the dual source of supply being taken through two connections is also against the safety rule and policy and can cause a fatal/non-fatal accident to the line staff.

“You are requested to kindly get the load of the mentioned connections consolidated within a fortnight in the light of your connected load at present, failing which connections installed beyond permissible one connection will be removed without further notice. The Mepco reserves its right to recover financial loss sustained in this regard,” the letter concluded.
