NEW YORK, Sept 1: Pakistan Muslim League-N president Shahbaz Sharif on Monday reaffirmed his intention to return to Pakistan soon, saying he would be moving to Dubai from New York within the next few weeks.

Dispelling the impression created by press reports about his moving to London, Mr Sharif said: “Dubai will be ... closer to Pakistan. I will be living in Dubai until I go to Pakistan,” he asserted.

The PML-N chief had come to New York for the removal of what he described as being “a life threatening” cancerous tumour in his stomach.

The tumour was reportedly removed at New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital last January and he has recuperated well.

At several PML-N meetings here, Mr Sharif had blamed the Pakistani army for destroying the democratic institutions in the country by imposing martial law, claiming their desire to rid the country of corruption and nepotism.
