KARACHI: Young Zuhair Raza created the upset of his tennis career here on Thursday when he brushed aside Davis Cupper and tournament’s top seed Yasir Khan 6-1, 2-6, 10-8 in the semi-final of the NBP Open ranking tennis tournament being played at the Defence Authority Creek Club.

Zuhair will now face Talah Zubair Surmawala in the final of the men’s singles event on Sunday afternoon.

Men’s singles semi-finals: Zuhair Raza bt Yasir Khan 6-1,2-6,10-8; Talha Zubair bt Malik Hamza 6-3 ,6-4;

U-17 semi-finals: Sahibzada M Ali bt Raza Sawani 6-4,6-1

U-13 semi-finals: Amin Shaff bt Ajay Chochan 6-3,6-4

Ladies singles quarter-final: Neha Khan bt Kinza Ghanchi 6-3,6-3.

Doubles semi-finals: Akhbar Hayat-Humayun bt Mushtaq Ahmed-Junaid Ahmed 6-3,7-6.
