Man kills daughter, sister, cousin

OKARA, Aug 31: A man shot dead his daughter, a sister and a cousin in Chak 48/3-R on Sunday.

Reports said the wife of Ghulam Haider was injured during a dacoity incident some 10 days ago, and she was still under treatment at the Jinnah Hospital, Lahore.

However, the area people suspected that Haider had himself shot at his wife as he was ‘mentally upset’.

Nowadays his aunt and a cousin had been residing in his house to look after his two minor daughters and mentally-retarded sister Safia.

Early Sunday morning, Ghulam Haider shot dead his sister Safia, daughter Darakshan (2) and cousin Surraya. Later, he surrendered to the Cantt police.

KILLED: Two persons were killed in separate incidents here on Sunday.

Shahbaz, a resident of Gujranwala, was standing in the gate of the Karachi Express when his head struck a pole at the Karmanwala railway station, some four kilometres from here. He died on the spot.

Four people were going by a van when it collided with a truck coming from the opposite side near Shaikh Basti on the GT Road. Tahira Bibi sustained critical injuries and died instantly.
