BAHAWALPUR: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif paid a visit to flood-affected area of Ballah Jhallan in Ahmedpur East tehsil on Monday and promised to extend all-out help to the marooned people.

The chief minister informed a gathering of displaced people that a survey to asses their losses had been started and they would receive first installment of financial assistance in weeks.

He said affected farmers would also get free fertilizers and seed for cultivation. He said mechanical tandoors would be set up to provide meals to the victims and the supply of potable water to them would be ensured.

Earlier ,the chief minister was given briefing and was informed that hundred per cent people had been shifted to safer places along with their cattle heads.

According to our Muzaffargarh correspondent, the chief minister paid a fourth visit to the district in a week. He visited the social welfare workers school to see the relief camps there. He met affected people and asked questions about the availability of food and other facilities to them.

The chief minister was satisfied over the working of the administration and praised the police teams’ work in flood-hit areas.

Meanwhile, Falah-i-Insaniat Foundation and Doaba Foundation started work in relief camps here.
