ISLAMABAD: The capital police arrested another 25 persons from different parts of Punjab, including Lahore, for attacking the PTV headquarters on September 1.

Officials said the investigators had spotted 70 attackers through TV footages. Later, they announced a reward of Rs100,000 for those who either identify them or help in their arrest.

In this regard, an advertisement was also published in newspapers.

A senior officer said: “So far the capital police along with the Punjab police have arrested over 27 attackers from different parts of Punjab, including Lahore.”

They were being interrogated about the whereabouts of other attackers.

Majority of them have been identified and raids are being conducted separately, he said, adding “Some attackers are still present at the sit-in site.”

He said about 80 per cent attackers were affiliated with PAT. —Staff Reporter
