MANSEHRA: Four people, including two young boys, were killed in different incidents in Mansehra district on Wednesday.

Two members of a family were killed when unidentified assailants opened fire on a car at Jiah Mera area of Khaki police station. The bodies were taken to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital (Kath), Mansehra, for autopsy. The victims were identified as Mohammad Ibrahim and Mohammad Kabir. Later, the bodies were handed over to their family. Police registered an FIR and have started investigation.

Also, body of a young boy was found in Khaki police station limits. The body of Umer Riaz, 13, who went missing the other day, was found at a deserted place. The victim was axed to death, according to the report of autopsy carried out at Kath.

In another incident, Mohammad Niaz, 9, was killed when he tried to put up resistance over kidnapping of his sister in Balian Mera area of Oghi.

According to police, the in-laws of Niaz’s sister had allegedly kidnapped another girl in Allai area of Battagram and the affected family wanted to kidnap the former.

They said that the alleged attackers, including Noor Hussain, Azeem Khan and Afsar Khan, barged into the house of the girl, but her father Behram and brother Niaz put up resistance and the intruders gunned down Mr Niaz who died instantly. Police have registered the FIR against the accused.

The body was handed over to the family after autopsy at the civil hospital, Oghi. Officials of the relevant police stations said that they had started investigations into the cases.

MEDICAL STORES SEALED: The regional drug inspector has sealed 10 medical stores being run by unqualified people in the district.

“We have sealed 10 medical stores on Zafar Road and Chakia Road where spurious drugs were being sold by unqualified people,” said Tauseef Ahmad, the regional drug inspector, while speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday.

He said that an operation against unlicensed medical stores had been started on the orders of provincial health secretary. He said that cases had been registered against those running unlicensed medical stores in the district.
