PESHAWAR, Aug 29: The Frontier Highway Authority has been directed to expedite work on the Mardan-Shergarh-Dargai road.

Directives in this regard were issued by NWFP Senior Minister Sirajul Haq while speaking at a briefing after inspecting the under-construction Malakand road at Shergarh on Thursday.

Instructing officials to send him a weekly progress report in connection with the progress of work on the highway, the minister said that delay in its construction was causing hardships for commuters travelling to Swat, Dir and Chitral besides affecting the government’s efforts to promote tourism in hill stations located there.

The NWFP Minister for Food and E&T Fazal Rabbani Advocate, Mian Nadir Shah MPA, Maulana Sultan Muhammad and Maulana Abdul Akbar were also present.
