‘Democrazy’

Published September 2, 2014

Apropos the letter (Aug 31), the writer has rightly coined the word “democrazy,” which is an apt description of the near-anarchy prevalent in Pakistan.

We need a working and functioning democracy that delivers.

In my opinion, democracy essentially comprises two viable mainstream political parties with elections held every four/ five years; annual audit of government accounts and most importantly severe restrictions on the number of terms a candidate can hold office.
