KARACHI: Spinners Shiraz Hussain and Nabeel Hashmi shared eight wickets between them as Alamgir Gymkhana whipped Northern Gymkhana by nine wickets to reach the final of the KCCA Zone-VI ‘A’ Division League Cricket Tournament here on Sunday.

Batting first in the second semi-final at the RLCA Ground in North Karachi, Northern Gymkhana were shot out for a dismal 104 in 27.5 overs. Waqas Haroon (35), Syed Tabraiz Ali Shah (25) and Azam Khan (21) were the chief run-getters.

Slow left-armer Shiraz and his off-spinning partner Nabeel both returned identical figures of four wickets for 27 runs.

Alamgir Gymkhana, in reply, sprinted to victory in just 11 overs with opener Ahsan Ali blasting nine boundaries and a brace of sixes in scoring 59. Jaahid Ali and Faraz Ali ended up making unbeaten 19 each.

In the final Alamgir Gymkhana will take on the formidable Pakistan Cricket Club side which defeated Metropolitan Cricket Club in the first semi-final on Friday.
