KARACHI: Old Fighter Futsal Club beat GSA All Stars after a thrilling contest to win the PGF Season 4 senior category futsal title at the Defence Authority Creek Club (DACC) here on Thursday.

The final was locked at 2-2 in the regular time but in the penalty shootout that followed, Old Fighter Club outscored the All Stars 3-1 to clinch the title.

As many as 108 teams competed in the event which saw about two hundred matches played in U-16, U-13 and Senior categories. The U-16 event was won by Sultanabad Futsal Club while the U-13 event was won by Red Army.

Later, while distributing the prizes among the winneers, chief guest Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Siddiqui praised the high standard of game in the futsal tournament and said the sport is catching up fast in Karachi and other cities. He also lauded chief organiser of the event Shaharyar Amir for holding the tournament in a smooth manner.

Also present on the occasion were DACC Secretary Brig Sajid Iqbal Jadoon, Col Amir Ajmal, Director Sports Asif Azeem, DACC Sports Manager Mohammad Amir and a large number of sports enthusiasts and officials.
