Eight killed, 43 injured in rain related incidents in KP, Fata

PESHAWAR: The capital city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan’s tribal areas bordering Afghanistan are again hit by severe rain and hailstorms, inundating the low-lying areas and killing at least eight people, 43 people have also been injured.

At least 18 people had been killed and more than 80 others injured in Peshawar last week in different rain related incidents.

According to Deputy Commissioner Zahirul Islam, five members of a family died and 12 others injured as roof of their house collapsed in Regi on the outskirts of Jamrud, Khyber Agency.

The officials also confirmed that two people have died and 13 others injured on Thursday evening due to rain related incidents in Peshawar.

Seven dead bodies were received at the Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC), while 19 injured people were brought there also. One dead body and 13 injured were received at Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH). The injured were discharged after the first aid.

Moreover, 13 injured were received at Lady Reading Hospital (LRH). Most of them were discharged after the first aid, while the others were still getting medical attention there.

I think Chief Minister, Mr. Khatak and KPK ministers should be allowed to go back and try to minimize the sufferings... ministers can be sent back n forth on rotation basis.

The CM should be coordinating the relief efforts in KPK. Instead playing political games in Islamabad more important to him than saving the lives he is responsible for. This is worse than any corruption. It is criminal negligence. The people of KPK opened their hearts to PTI and have been completely abandoned. I hope the PTI enjoyed its 15 minutes of fame. KPK is doing worse than ever and the party is going to get wiped out in the next election.

When countless people died in the floods all over Punjab, and all those who were the target of the terrorists, and other negative elements in the country then where was this Nawaz Sharif? Imran Khan has no control over the rain. Whenever it rains in any part of the country, it creates havoc because of the pathetic infrastructure. It is the duty of the central govt to address these issues. And this is not the first time these tragedies occurred, so don't try to split mud baselesly on Imran Khan, try to find a better pretext.

PTI should seriously consider to stop dancing and singing for three days as per our traditions and send all KP ministers back to look after the injured and console families who have lost their dear ones.
