Groom shot dead

PAKPATTAN: A groom was shot dead allegedly by former husband of would-be wife in a nearby village on Wednesday.

According to police, Muhammad Akram of Chak EB/20 was married to Samina Bibi some times ago and later he divorced her.

Samina then decided to contract marriage with Munir.

Munir’s marriage party was proceeding to the house of Samina when Akram allegedly shot at and killed him.

Meanwhile, robbers shot at and killed a youth and injured his father in Chak 33/EB on Wednesday.

Police said Mohsin Shah, his father Ali Hussain and brother Muhammad Azam of Chak 37/EB were returning to their village by a motorbike from Arifwala when six robbers intercepted them near Chak 33/EB.

The opened fired and injured Ali Hussain and Mohsin Shah when they resisted their attempt of robbery.

The injured were shifted to hospital where Mohsin Shah succumbed to his injuries.
