LAHORE: A PML-N Lahore chapter convention unanimously adopted two resolutions pledging not to allow anyone take hostage the party's mandate and supported it for 'strengthening democracy'.

The convention addressed by the party leaders, including Pervaiz Malik, Khwaja Ahmed Hassan, Imran Nazir, Maulana Raghib Naeemi and Imran Goraya, vowed to foil every attempt to hijack the mandate the masses gave to the PML-N in 2013 elections.

It chided PTI leader Imran Khan for what it said creating anarchy and lawlessness to hide the long march 'failure'.

It said time had come to reject those launching sit-ins and long marches against 'the country's development'.

The workers, both men and women, present there raised slogans in favour of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and democracy.

Mr Malik said PM Nawaz Sharif had already accepted Imran Khan's basic demand by constituting a commission comprising Supreme Court judges for investigating rigging allegations but the PTI leader was not ready to give up his "unconstitutional" stance.

Mr Hassan said those trying to take hostage the entire country with the help of a 'few thousand' people should realise people were with Nawaz Sharif.

Mr Nazir lamented that the PTI leader was instigating his workers that would be harmful for the country.
