KARACHI: A renowned professor of cardiology and Chairperson of NJ Univer­si­ty of Medicine and Dentis­try and Head of Medicine, Dr Bunyad Haider, passed away in New Jersey on Sunday, his family said.

Dr Haider, M.D., was the younger brother of retired Air Commodore Sajad Haider.

A leading figure in the field of medicine, Dr Haider was given for his unmatched service to humanity a Life Time Achievement Award by the institute to which he committed 40 years of his life, which was followed by a six- minute standing ovation.

He also received the “Distinguished Service to Medical Professional Award” and many other accolades during his illustrious career.
