KARACHI: The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Federation (PBSF) will organise a top 16 national ranking tournament in the city from Aug 25.

The event will form criteria to pick top two cueists for the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) world snooker championship being held in Bangalore from Oct 18 to 30, PBSF president Alamgir Shaikh said.

The domestic circuit of the game has suffered a lot during the last eight months owing to phenomenal rise of international activities that has upset the annual calendar.

It is pertinent to mention that only one national ranking event — the 39th National Snooker Championship — had taken place in March.
