RAWALPINDI, Dec 19: Three persons were murdered in separate incidents in Rawalpindi and its suburbs during Eid holidays, police said on Wednesday.

In the first incident, Arshad Mehmood was stabbed to death by some unknown robbers in a house in Dhoke Ratta (Gnajmandi).

Arshad was reportedly sleeping in his when the unknown culprits attacked him and stabbed him in the chest. A doctor who had carried out post-mortem of the deceased, told Dawn that there were visible marks of a blunt weapon on his face and neck, which showed that he was also tortured by the attackers before murdering him.

The father of the deceased told police that the robbers had also looted jewellery and other valuables.

In the second incident, Tanveer Ahmed was killed during a clash between the two groups on Girja Road in the jurisdiction of Saddar Baruni police station on Wednesday, the police said.

The police said Tanveer had a brawl with some other persons which resulted in fist fighting. During the fighting, Tanveer received a severe blow and died on the spot. The deceased’s body was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) for post- mortem.

In another incident, Hafiz Mansoor Ahmed was shot dead by some unidentified persons in his house in Kotli Sattian, the police said.

Mohammad Tasveer, the father of the deceased, lodged an FIR with the police stating that he had gone to the house of a relative where he received a message that his only son had been killed.

“When I reached home, I found the body of my son lying abandoned in the courtyard of the house,” the father of the deceased said in the FIR. He said that he had no enmity with any one.

Meanwhile, some unidentified thieves stole 14 personal computers from the Government Degree College, Asghar Mall, during the Eid holidays.

Mohammad Shafiq, the head of the computer department of the college, has lodged an FIR with Banni police stating that some unidentified thieves had broken into the computer laboratory and decamped with 14 computers.
