DADU, July 20: The Qabil Khan Rodhnani, Rasool Bux Vighio, Hussain Bux Vighio, Koro Vighio, Kaloo Rodhnani, Gul Mohammad Khan Rodhnani and Fatoo Brohi villages were flooded with the water of the Nain Gaj as a result of which at least 125 houses collapsed on Sunday.

However, the water level of the Nain Gaj has started lowering. However, the link roads of the area remain submerged for the eighth consecutive day as a result of which the entire Kachho area has been cut off.

The people of the affected villages have appealed to the authorities to provide them medicines and food immediately as thousands of people have been infected with various diseases.

This correspondent visited the villages of the Kachho area along the flood protective bund. And the only way it was possible to do so was on a boat.

It was observed that the villagers were facing many hardships and needed medicines and food badly. Since the transportation system had been cut off, there was no way they could go to the nearest town, Johi, to buy food and medicines for their families.

The worst part is that no team of any government department had arrived there yet for providing relief to the affected villagers.

A villager, Ghulam Qadir Rodhnani, of the Kaloo Rodhnani village, located some six kms away from the flood protective bund, said that 35 houses had collapsed in his village.

Another villager, Gul Mohammad Khan Rodhnani, of the Gul Mohammad Khan Rodhnani village said that the Nain Gaj had changed its course as a result of which water had gushed into his village collapsing 40 houses. He further said that about 30 houses had collapsed in the villages of Qabil Khan Rodhnani, Rasool Bux Vighio, Hussain Bux Vighio, and Koro Vighio.
