PESHAWAR, July 20: A Joint Action Committee (JAC) of civil society groups has expressed concern over the provincial government’s attitude towards its partner NGO in the “Mera Ghar” project.

The committee, in its meeting held here, demanded that an independent review  of the situation should be carried out by a committee comprising representatives from the NGOs, the government, media and academia. The committee would be given the task to review the cause of failure to implement the project.

According to a press release issued here on Friday, the meeting was attended by 25 representatives of different groups of the civil society. The members were briefed on the Mera Ghar project’s situation and the recent press statements issued by the provincial government putting the entire blame for failure of the project on the NGO, Aurat Foundation.
