Six killed in Swabi

SWABI: Six people, including a woman and a child, were killed and eight were injured in different incidents in the district during Eid days.

The police said a gunman killed a motorcyclist and injured his uncle after snatching their motorcycle.

They said eight-year-old Shahzad Khan and his uncle, Safdar Ali, were on the way to the house of their relatives in Kunda village on a motorcycle when they gave a free ride to a stranger near Zaida bypass.

The stranger later snatched the motorcycle at gunpoint and fired gunshots at the two killing Shahzad and injuring Safdar.

The gunman fled afterwards.

In another incident, Afghan refugee Nur Ahmad Din was hit and killed by a speeding motorcycle on Topi bypass here.

The deceased lived in Gandaf refugee camp in Topi tehsil.

Also, Yousaf Khan was gunned down in Ismaila village over a dispute.

Akbar Ali, brother of the deceased, registered an FIR with the police against Syed Hassan, Bakht Gul and Ghaffar Ali in the Kalu Khan area accusing them of the killing.

Meanwhile, a man was killed and two were injured over an old enmity in Zaida city.

The police identified the deceased as Aizaz Khan and the injured as Basit Khan and Naveed Khan, a child.

They said they registered an FIR against the suspect, Saeed Khan, before beginning investigation.

Also, a woman was killed by her brother-in-law in Maini village.

The police identified the deceased as Sher Zaman Khan’s wife and said Kamran Shah was the suspect.

Meanwhile, youngster Hamid Khan was found dead in the open fields near Gaju Khan’s mausoleum.

The deceased was a resident of Maneri.

The cause of death was not known by the night.

The family said the deceased had no enmity towards anyone.

Also, four motorcyclists were injured in the district headquarters and two in Topi tehsil.

Two of them were stated to be in critical condition.
