LARKANA: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Larkana, on Monday announced the results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) part-II science and general groups examinations.
Among the male candidates in the science group, Yasir Ali Lakho of the Cadet College, Larkana, clinched the first position by securing 779 out of 850 marks while Imran Ali Shah of the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology Intermediate College, Larkana, stood second with 778 marks and Tanveer Hussain Soomro of the College for Superior Services grabbed the third position with 777 marks.
Among the female candidates of the same group, Ms Paressa of the Govt Girls Mughal High School, Larkana, secured 780 marks to clinch the first position while Ms Hoorain Soomro of the Government Little Folks Elementary School with 778 marks and Ms Sakina Batool of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ratodero, with 777 marks secured the second and third positions, respectively.
A total of 35,793 candidates appeared in the science group examination and only 745 of them could clinch the A-1 grade while 8,632 were placed in the A grade, 11,808 in the B grade, 5,167 in the C grade, 725 in the D grade and four in the E grade. The results of 1,551 candidates were withheld for different reasons.In the general group (male candidates), Masood Akhtar Siddiqi of the Govt High School, Rustam, got 651 marks and stood first. Nadir Ali Khan Shahliani of the Govt Higher Secondary School, Garhi Khairo, with 648 marks and Ammanullah Shaikh of the Govt High School, Nasirabad, with 634 marks, grabbed the second and third positions.
Only one candidate could pass the exam in the A-1 grade and another 92 in the A grade. Among the rest, 1,210 passed it in the B grade, 1,067 in the C grade, 270 in the D grade and nine candidates passed the exam in the E grade. The results of 390 candidates were withheld for using unfair means.
Among the female candidates of the same group, Mehar Bano Sanjrani of the Govt Girls Elementary High School, Kandhkot, clinched the first position by securing 724 marks. Kalsoom Golo of the Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Thull, with 628 marks and Firdous Ansari of the Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Thull, with 627 marks, grabbed the second and third positions, respectively.
Meanwhile, Larkana BISE controller of examinations Sikandar Mirjat has announced that the marks sheets and certificates will not be issued to around 1,800 candidates although their results have not been withheld.
The affected candidates appeared in the exams from three centres — Govt Higher Secondary School, Guddu; Govt High School, Sardaro Khoso; and Govt High School, Kashmor.
Speaking to Dawn, he explained that an inquiry was under way to ascertain whether these candidates had the domicile of some other province. Despite repeated correspondence with the principals concerned, there had been no response to the queries in this regard so far, he added.
