KARACHI: Malir Gymkhana reached the RLCA Ramazan T20 Cricket Tournament final on Duckworth/Lewis method with a 12-run victory over Pak Korangi CC in the semi-final at Korangi Stadium here on Wednesday night after a power failure affected the match.

The match was halted after the failure of one light tower and Duckworth/Lewis formula had to be applied. According to the formula, Malir Gymkhana were declared winners by the umpires.

Batting first, Malir Gymkhana totalled 135-6 in their 20 overs. Test fast bowler Sohail Khan smashed an attacking 29-ball 39 spiced with four sixes and two boundaries. Daniyal Ahsan contributed 30 off 23 balls with three hits to the boundary while Khalid Latif hammered a rapid 29 not out studded with three boundaries and two sixes.

Maroof Aziz and Atif Maqbool took two wickets apiece for 22 and 38 runs, respectively.

Pak Korangi CC, in reply, had reached 98 for three in 13.5 when the match was stopped due to a light failure. Talib Ali slammed brilliant a 29-ball 39 featuring three hits to the ropes and two over it. Mubashir Ahmed finished undefeated on 39-ball knock of 30 with three strikes to the boundary.

Talib Ali of Pak Korangi was adjudged man-of-the-match.
